Mosquitoes 101

Some mosquitoes bite, but do not spread germs. These types of mosquitoes are called nuisance mosquitoes. Nuisance mosquitoes can become a problem immediately following heavy rains or natural disasters; such as hurricanes or floods. Some mosquitoes can be vectors. A vector is an animal, insect, or tick that spreads pathogens (germs) to people and animals. This course covers the most common and notable mosquitoes in the United States. We will discuss; Life Cycle & Reproduction, Breeding Sites, Feeding Behavior, Habitats, Adult Mosquito Parts, Integrated Mosquito Management and Control Options.
